Almost Zero-G (2D Platformer Project)
Almost Zero-G is my modified 2D Platformer project. My modifications are:
- New air jump pickup that increases the number of air jumps the player can do, complete with an original sprite and UI element displaying the current number of allowed jumps.
- 8 different modifiers! Debuffs such as slow, high gravity, low jump power, and reversed controls are applied by new enemy variants, and buffs such as speed boost, low gravity, high jumps, and invincibility are applied by new pickups/pickup variants.
- UI system that tracks all of the player's current modifiers and their remaining time using a radial duration timer. All sprites used as modifier icons are original (and yes I know I suck at art).
Unfortunately, the final version only has 1 demo level to show off all the modifications, as making the modifier system fairly general and scriptable took much more time and effort than I bargained for.
